I had a cyber chat with the Managing director of Vyk Shankel , and her work is just beyond AMAZING! A: My name is Victoria Esuong Shankel, I run the affairs of VYK Shankel (a.k.a VSQ).


Q: Where does your brand name come from?
A: I had initially thought about fusing my two names Shankel and Victoria. So, I came up with the name "Shankel Vee". I bounced off the idea with a friend who suggested "VYK Shankel". I felt it was really cool and that’s how I came about the name.

 

Q: what are your product and services?

A: We try to differentiate ourselves in the market in by three main lines of focus:

Customized outfits – We create specialized outfits for women and men alike as well as kids for any occasion. We believe that an outfit defines to a great extent a person’s personality and own story. We help our customers to tell their story through their dressing
Looks – “Looking good is good business”. This is the underlining principle that drives our behavour as a company and we pride ourselves in the fact that we make our clients look comfortable in their skin.
Event management – We ensure our customers are stress free when organizing their events. From event ushers, live band, hall rental and decorations etc., we give a back-to-back service delivery working with the customer’s budget.
Affordability and flexibility – We work with customer’s budget and remain flexible to accommodate different scenarios all in a bid to satisfy customer’s request.

Q: What makes your product Unique?
A: Because our business thrives primarily on referrals, we’ve deliberately built our products and services around the personal touch element. We understand that every customers has an idea, a vision of what he or she wants, in our organization we see that as a story. It then becomes our primary responsibility to help the customer tell that story very well. Be it from dresses or outfit making to event management, we try to tell the story of the customer in the most unique way that truly expresses the deepest feelings of the customer.

Another key lever that makes us unique comes from us spending quality time with the customer to understand what the “story” he or she wants to tell and how we can together tell that story. This we have seen has given our customers a deep sense of relief, fun and joy being able to think up an idea and we are able to work them through bringing that thought to reality.
