Associated Airlines Lagos Plane Crash: Sad as Survivor Toes, Fingers Amputated.

 A survivor of the Associated Plane Crash that occurred on October 3rd, Queeneth Owolabi's 10 toes and five fingers on her left hand were eventually amputated five days ago.
                
Apparently Queeneth, a mother of two, 10 toes and the five fingers of her left hand had been marked for amputation some days ago because of the infection that had set in but for the resistance of her husband who had appealed and hoped the Federal Government would intervene and his wife would be flown abroad for treatment to avoid the amputation.Sadly as no help came from the government, there was no choice but for Owolabi’s toes and fingers were to be amputated last week at the Nigerian Air Force Hospital, NAF Base, Ikeja, following gangrene infection, so that the infection would not spread to other parts of her body..
Owolabi was one of the five survivors of the Associated Airline which crashed near the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Ikeja, Lagos, while conveying the remains of former governor of OndoState, Chief Olusegun Agagu, to Akure for burial.

Meanwhile Quinneth's colleagues have expressed their anger over government’s refusal to come to the aid of the victim despite the appeal made by NACCA and the family.
The spokesperson of the group, Mrs. Blessing Efe, said Owolabi would have been saved the trauma of amputation had government heeded her cries, but confirmed that Miss Toyin Samson’s situation was stable at Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH, Ikeja, where she is on admission.

According to her, the victim has been going through a lot of trauma since the toes and fingers were amputated four days ago.
She said: “It is unfortunate that no help came when Quinneth needed it most. Her toes and fingers were amputated three days ago (five days today). Imagine the trauma she is going through at the moment.
